India vs US grading
Indian universities often report CGPA on 10; US schools use a 4.0 scale with letter bands. This tool only does the weighted average — your institution’s official rules for drops, repeats, and rounding may differ.
Frequently asked questions
How is weighted GPA calculated here?
We multiply each course grade by its credits, sum those products, and divide by the sum of credits for rows with credits greater than zero.
What is the difference between India 10-point and US 4.0 mode?
India mode expects numeric grades roughly 0–10 per course. US mode uses a fixed letter-to-4.0 mapping in the dropdown. Only one grade column is active at a time.
Does this match my university transcript?
Maybe not exactly. Institutions differ on drops, retakes, pass/fail exclusions, and rounding. Use this tool for estimates and homework checks, not as an official GPA.
Can I leave course names blank?
Yes—names are optional labels. Only credits and grades affect the math.
What if all credits are zero?
We show a dash for GPA until at least one row has credits greater than zero.
Are grades sent to DoItSwift?
No. Everything runs in your browser with JavaScript.
